Our education system needs to reflect the real world our young people are stepping into. Right now, too many students finish school without the skills or confidence they need to step directly into work.
As an independent candidate, I’m focused on practical, community-informed solutions: Earlier trade and skills training in high schools; Stronger and more support for teachers and trained classroom aides; Flexible local pathways into jobs, apprenticeships, healthcare, and teaching; Universal access to preschool from age 3.
This isn’t about more bureaucracy. It’s about creating opportunities that match the needs of our region—and giving every child the strongest start.

Stadium
There’s been a lot of debate about the Macquarie Point Stadium, and I understand why. It’s a significant project with the potential for a statewide impact. I’m not here to offer a quick yes or no.
What I will say is: Decisions like this need to be made with care, community input, and proper due diligence. We need to know it’s viable, sustainable, and delivers real public value – without pulling focus from urgent priorities like education and skills training.
Because while we’re talking about building stadiums, we should also be talking about building futures. And that means investing in people of all ages, in all regions.
